Job Title
A Team Leader is required to manage the Switchboard/Enquiries team at Grampians Health.
The purpose of this position is to lead and direct the staff and functions of the Switchboard/Enquiries team to deliver quality, person centred services to consumers. Functions of this team include processing of external and internal telephone calls, calling of emergency codes, responding to patient, visitor and staff enquiries and facilitating communication, patient and visitor flow.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and issue staff rosters in line with Enterprise Bargaining Agreement requirements; manage daily updates in rostering software, including shift changes, reconciliation, and pay lock.
* Promote a respectful, communicative, and supportive team culture; address and resolve staff concerns, complaints, and misconduct transparently and in accordance with policy.
* Hold regular team meetings and maintain open communication channels to keep staff informed and engaged.
* Allocate and monitor duties to ensure completion; provide structured training and conduct annual Performance and Development Reviews (PDRs).
* Lead recruitment activities to build a cohesive team; deliver onboarding and ongoing training for both new and current staff.
* Maintain working knowledge of daily operations; evaluate, document, and refine processes to enhance service delivery; availability for on-call duties as required.
Requirements
Experience in the effective management of a medium sized team with demonstrated ability to lead, direct and motivate staff. Strong organisational, process and change management skills demonstrating logic, critical thinking, problem solving, consultation, decision making and implementation of workable solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to listen, comprehend and convey information to variable audiences. Resilience.
