At CSR, we're building a better future together. We are a team of 2,600 people across Australia and New Zealand, all collaborating every single day towards a shared purpose – 'Building solutions for a better future'. As a leading Australian manufacturing business, we're at the forefront of developing innovative, sustainable, and high‑performing building products and systems. At CSR, we put people first. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, supportive, and inclusive working environment that enables everyone to feel valued, grow and truly thrive. We are committed to providing equal opportunity for everyone and welcoming people of all backgrounds, identities, experiences, abilities, and life stages.
The Opportunity
Help lead our cultural shift in health, safety and environment – and drive meaningful change where it counts. We're looking for a WHSE Business Partner who's ready to make an impact – someone who thrives on coaching, partnering with leaders, and driving meaningful change across high‑risk operational environments. You'll play a key role in ensuring that our people go home safely, every day. Working across our Wetherill Park and Glendenning sites, you'll partner with site and operational leaders to lift safety and environmental standards, embed cultural change, and deliver on CSR's WHSE strategy. You'll also have the chance to develop into a senior leadership role, with this position viewed as potential succession into the WHSE Manager role.
About The Role
This is more than a compliance role – it's a true business partnering position where you'll guide frontline leaders, drive accountability, and support our cultural and operational WHSE transformation.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Partner with operational and site leaders to implement WHSE strategies, frameworks, and systems aligned with CSR standards.
- Coach and mentor line leaders and frontline employees to strengthen WHSE capability.
- Support investigations, audits, and risk assessments to identify and manage hazards effectively.
- Lead initiatives that improve environmental performance and sustainability outcomes.
- Drive onboarding and induction frameworks to reduce early‑tenure injury rates.
- Foster a proactive safety culture where everyone ‘never walks past’ unsafe behaviour or conditions.
About You
You're not a compliance enforcer – you're a trusted advisor and coach who brings people along for the journey. You'll have a robust technical foundation in WHSE and a natural ability to influence and engage across all levels of a business.
You Ideally Bring
- Strong experience in manufacturing, construction, or logistics (high‑risk environments).
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor operational and site leadership teams.
- Experience with machinery safety (machine guarding, plant risk assessments).
- Exposure to occupational health and hygiene monitoring programs – not essential.
- Solid understanding of WHSE systems, risk management, and continuous improvement processes.
- Experience conducting or leading incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication, curiosity, and people‑first mindset.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in WHS or equivalent (Cert IV or Diploma minimum).
- Certificate in Return‑to‑Work Coordination (preferred).
What's In It For You
- Career growth in a dynamic and supportive team.
- Attractive salary and benefits, including access to exclusive discounts and offers and eligibility for STI bonus scheme.
- Supportive and collaborative culture that fosters innovation and inclusion.
- Care and wellbeing offer includes up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave, 52 weeks of superannuation payment, and access to an employee assistance program.
- Rewarding career with on‑the‑job learning, development, and upskilling opportunities within and across our brands.
