The Role
Love bringing complex projects to life? As a Project Engineer at Hypersonix, you'll drive engineering projects from concept to completion. You'll collaborate with expert engineers, own budgets and schedules, manage risks and subcontractors, and keep everything on track. The result? Responsibilities
Develop and deliver project plans for engineering projects, including vehicle design, modifications, and testing.
Establish and track project budgets and schedules, providing regular status updates and variance analyses to stakeholders
Plan engineering milestone reviews and maintain accurate project documentation, including technical plans, risk registers, and decision logs
Maintain project documentation, including technical plans, risk registers, and decision logs. Adapt project plans as technical issues arise, maintaining delivery momentum.
Coordinate resource allocation and workloads with functional leads and engineers.
Assist responsible engineers to understand their project deadlines, deliverables, interfaces and dependencies.
Coordinate and manage subcontractor deliverables, schedules and technical performance.
Review supplier progress, manage interfaces and escalate delivery issues promptly.
Own subcontractor delivery, from defining technical requirements through to performance oversight and issue escalation.
Drive continuous improvement by strengthening project processes and business systems, capturing lessons learned, and implementing corrective actions to improve future project delivery

Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or STEM discipline
2+ years coordinating small to medium engineering projects
Demonstrated experience with project budget and schedule management
Experience with data analysis and data-based decision making
Proficient in Microsoft 365, Jira and MS Project or equivalent
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure
Strong attention to detail and confident problem solver
Ability to obtain any applicable security clearance or background checks.
Right to live and work in Australia.
Desirable Requirements
Experience with Earned Value Management terminology application
Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification
Aerospace or defence experience, particularly working in a regulated industry (Aerospace, Defence, Transport etc) flight systems or complex hardware projects
