Description
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tier II Network Technician to support various WAN and LAN networks. The role provides incident resolution, routing changes, firewall changes; acts as a subject‐matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies; and supports intra‐ and inter‐net and other data communications systems or segments of networked systems.
Responsibilities
* Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
* Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
* Draft and implement standard network change requests.
* Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinate and install new equipment).
* Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring asset management records are accurate, and conducting inventory.
* Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
* Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Port Security, and Thin Configurations).
* Perform COMSEC custodian duties, ensuring proper handling, storage, and safeguarding of cryptographic materials in compliance with U.S. Government policies.
* Maintain accountability and inventory control of COMSEC equipment, keying material, and related documentation.
* Support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of encryption devices, including TACLANEs and other secure communication equipment.
* Support network security operations, ensuring COMSEC integration aligns with overall cybersecurity requirements.
Requirements
* TS SCI with Poly.
* Candidate must have 8 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education (master's + 2 yrs, bachelor's + 4 yrs, associate's + 6 yrs, or HS diploma + 8 yrs).
* Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
* Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
* Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
* Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
* Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single‐Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form‐factor Pluggable (SFP)).
* Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI models.
* Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, and Brocade & Foundry OS.
* Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, and GRE.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence.
* Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
* Up to 25% travel.
