Job Title: Safety Management Professional
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive workplace safety management system to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards. They will provide expert advice on safety best practices, develop policies and procedures, and manage the company's safety suite.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide proactive and professional safety advice and support to staff at all levels, including executive leadership teams and general managers
* Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a positive safety culture, including the continuous improvement of the safety management system
* Identify, assess, and mitigate safety risks across operations, developing safety management plans and strategies, including emergency preparedness and response
* Assist with the coordination of workers' compensation and lead the return-to-work program
* Deliver regular safety reports, updates, and recommendations to stakeholders
* Update safe operating procedures, policies, and other relevant safety documents
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Work, Health & Safety with significant experience in a complex organization with high-risk areas
* Cert IV in Training & Assessment
* Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills with an ability to meet deadlines
* Comprehensive knowledge of incident investigation techniques, including analysis and evaluation
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software
* Current/valid driver's license
