Job Description:
Role Summary
The Engagement and Operations Manager plays a critical role in the operational success of the Ipswich Art Gallery. This position is responsible for managing the administrative operations of the Gallery, including financial management, budget planning, human resource management, IT services, infrastructure, and facilities management.
The successful candidate will cultivate new ways for visitors to have meaningful and long-lasting relationships with the Ipswich Art Gallery. They will lead the design and development of creative engagement, education, and learning opportunities that welcome and engage diverse audiences.
Detailed Responsibilities:
* Assist the Director in implementing the strategic plan.
* Oversee Gallery administrative operations, including financial management and budget planning.
* Develop and oversee the implementation of an overarching marketing and communications plan and audience engagement strategies.
* Manage proactive and responsive infrastructure, asset, and facilities management for the Gallery.
* Attract, develop, support, and retain a high-performing team.
Requirements:
* A recognised tertiary qualification in Visual Arts, Business Administration, Marketing, or Museum/Arts studies, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Substantial experience in developing and reporting on policies, strategies, and systems, preferably within an art gallery or museum environment.
* Proven financial management skills, including budget development and monitoring.
* Substantial planning and prioritising skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and leadership, with a strong focus on teamwork.
* A current Blue Card or ability to procure one.
