Casual Tradesperson - Boiler Maker Welder or Fitter

SICC Services is a Tasmanian-based company established in 1999, specialising in project management, consultancy, asset inspection and asset maintenance, including industrial coatings, concrete remediation, structural asset care, NDT, and corrosion control. Our team is hands-on, tackling real-world challenges across various sectors including electrical generation, water, construction, fabrication, civil, and mechanical industries.
We deliver boots-on-the-ground results. Our work often overlaps with Epoxy Solutions Tasmania, our sister company, delivering high-quality epoxy flooring, line marking, and surface preparation services.
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced casual trades person in either the trade of boiler maker welding or fitting to join our small, dynamic team based from Latrobe. This position involves a variety of hands-on tasks, including:
• Assisting with inspections and asset condition monitoring.
• Supporting maintenance planning and carrying out maintenance under guidance.
• Supporting fabrication and mechanical site work.
• Undertaking confined space and working at heights tasks (where certified).
• Using hand and power tools for general duties.
• Participating in SWMS reviews and toolbox meetings.
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols.
• Working independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive small team.
This role includes working across various sites in Tasmania and may require travel and staying away from home at times. You'll get the opportunity to work on diverse and unique projects while visiting some of Tasmania's most scenic and remote locations.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a tradesperson in industrial, construction, or manufacturing settings.
• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Ability to read and follow instructions and safety procedures.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and physically fit.
• Excellent communication and a strong work ethic.
• Current driver's licence and ability to access various client sites.
• Current Confined Space Entry certification (desirable).
• Working at Heights certification (desirable).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
