**Our journey**
The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will be Australia's first dedicated heart hospital and is nearing its final stages of construction. It will include a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories, emergency, intensive care, and ambulatory services such as cardiac CT, echocardiography and specialist consultation. It will also feature a unique, patient centred model of care. The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will also play a key role in advancing research and teaching and will be home to the Victorian Heart Institute, a brand new, health and medical research organisation at Monash University.
**Recruting Now **Environmental Services Assistant**
The **General Services department** at the **Victorian Heart Hospital** requires **Environmental Services Assistant's **to work across all areas of the site. We are looking for staff who are customer service focused, enjoy working in a busy team environment and helping others to deliver an outstanding service.
Reporting to the General Services Supervisor, you'll be welcomed into our larger Monash Health Support Services team.You'll also enjoy working in brand new facilities in a dedicated heart hospital that will provide:

**A Day in the Life**:
**Responsibilities will include but not limited to**:
- Environmental cleaning
- Bathroom and toilet cleaning
- Cleaning in specialised areas
- Waste collection, linen transportation and manual handling
- Internal and external detailed cleaning
- Project and unscheduled ad-hoc cleaning
**What you need**:
- Certificate III in Cleaning Operations?_(Desirable)_
- An understanding of infection prevention cleaning processes within a healthcare environment
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
**On a personal level, you will demonstrate**:
- A "Can Do" attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- A positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
- Genuine interest in being part of the care team providing exceptional services

**What you bring**:
- Previous cleaning experience preferably or a passion for cleaning
- A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- Flexible approach to working in all areas as required
- Able to work unsupervised and can also take direction
