Turf Maintenance Team Leader Role
This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining and enhancing turf areas, ensuring they remain lush, healthy, and resilient. Our team requires a skilled Turf Maintenance Team Leader to oversee the upkeep of our playing surfaces.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing surfaces for elite team training, community use, and scheduled competitions or events.
* Support planning and delivery of wicket rotation, outfield renovations, and seasonal maintenance schedules.
* Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, aerating, and topdressing to uphold the quality and playability of turf surfaces.
* Undertake pitch preparation including scarifying, rolling, mowing, marking, watering, and covers management.
* Undertake regular mowing, irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease management, and turf renovation activities.
* Monitor turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
* Implement sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation strategies, weed and pest management techniques.
* Operate and maintain specialised turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Collaborate with the landscaping team to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide turf care recommendations.
Requirements:
* Qualifications:
* A relevant degree in horticulture, turf management, or a related field.
* Skills:
* Proven experience in turf maintenance and management.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical fitness to perform manual labour.
