We're recruiting for a Casual Funeral Director's Assistant positions supporting a respected, service-led organisation within the funeral industry. This role suits someone who is calm under pressure, highly professional, emotionally mature, and looking for meaningful work that genuinely supports people during important life moments. You'll work alongside Funeral Directors and Conductors to help deliver seamless, respectful services while supporting families with care and professionalism. The role is based from the Burwood location while supporting surrounding service areas when required. What You'll Be Doing: Assisting with funeral services, viewings, and day-of coordination Supporting Funeral Directors during services and transfers Helping manage service flow across multiple services in a day Assisting with setup, logistics, transport, and presentation Providing calm, respectful support to families and attendees Maintaining high standards of professionalism and attention to detail What The Role Really Looks Like: Casual hours -flexibility required with availability Start times generally from 8:30am, with some earlier starts at times Driving vehicles to various locations You will be working within a funeral environment What We're Looking For: Full unrestricted driver's licence (essential) Comfortable working in a funeral services environment Strong emotional resilience and professionalism High personal presentation and attention to detail Flexible availability and reliability for short-notice rostering Ability to remain composed in emotional or high-pressure situations Why This Role Appeals: Meaningful work supporting families when it matters most Strong structure, training, and clear processes Hands-on, people-focused environment No two days are the same Casual flexibility with purpose-driven work For the right person, it offers meaningful work in a highly respected environment where your contribution genuinely matters.
