12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Sydney or Perth
We are seeking an experienced finance professional with demonstrated Assistant Accountant experience to join our team on 12-month fixed-term contract, reporting to the FP&A Manager. This role requires practical, hands-on exposure to core accounting functions, including reconciliations, reporting, and month-end support. Candidates without prior Assistant Accountant experience will not be considered.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working across a broad range of finance activities and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of accounting journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including disbursements, prepayments and fixed assets
* Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register
* Preparation of GST and Corporate Income Tax returns
* Assisting with year-end statutory accounts and compliance requirements
* Supporting budgeting processes and ad hoc financial analysis as required
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following experience and attributes:
Essential
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or finance role
* Experience using accounting software
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Experience with month end including journals, prepayments and assets
Highly Regarded
* Management accounting experience
