The Opportunity
The Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation (ACJC) is a leading tertiary centre for Jewish studies, a hub for Jewish intellectual life in Australia, and a key contributor to research and teaching in areas such as Jewish and non‐Jewish relations, the Holocaust, Israel's place in Jewish life, and contemporary culture.
In this role, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will contribute to the Monash Initiative for Rapid Research into Antisemitism (MIRRA), undertaking high‐quality research to better understand and respond to antisemitism in contemporary society. The role involves delivering focused research projects, engaging with government, community and academic stakeholders, and contributing to evidence‐based solutions, including in relation to emerging drivers such as artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, plan and execute rigorous research projects addressing antisemitism and its drivers.
* Engage with government, community and academic stakeholders to inform and advance policy and practice.
* Produce high‐quality, peer‐reviewed publications and reports that influence evidence‐based solutions.
* Apply innovative and digital research methods, including emerging technologies, while assessing their societal impacts.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to information handling policies.
Qualifications and Experience
* Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or a closely related field.
* Demonstrated track record of refereed research publications.
* Excellent analytical, manuscript preparation, written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong problem‐solving abilities using sound judgement, innovation and diagnostic expertise.
* Highly organised, capable of managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines and working effectively in a collaborative environment.
* Proficiency in relevant software and systems; genuine interest in engaging with communities and applying innovative or digital research methods.
