Draught Sports is building Australia's next major sports media brand. In a short period of time, we've built a following of over 250K engaged fans and received tens of millions of views on our content each month.
The Role
We now want to grow the digital side of things and are looking for passionate sports writers who want to be part of it early.
This is a contributor role for people who live and breathe sport and want their work published to a growing national audience. You'll have the freedom to pitch ideas, write in your own voice, and build a portfolio on a platform that's scaling quickly across social and digital.
We're not looking for traditional journalists.
We want fans who can write.
If you're the type who's always got takes in the group chat, runs a niche sports page, or wants a real pathway into sports media, this is for you.Participants are free to contribute to other publications and are under no obligation to provide content.
What You'll Do
* Write articles across NRL, AFL, Cricket, UFC, Rugby, and other sports
* Pitch story ideas and react to breaking news
* Create opinion pieces, features, lists, match reactions, and culture content
* Work remotely and publish at your own pace
* Build a public portfolio with real readership

This is ideal for students, aspiring journalists, content creators, or anyone trying to break into sports media without waiting five years for a foot in the door.
We're building a tight group of contributors who want to grow with us long term. Contributors are not engaged to perform work that is essential to the business's day-to-day operations and are not filling roles that would otherwise be performed by paid employees.
