Overview

Manager, Finance Business Advisory Partnering – Ongoing Full-Time. Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available. Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 with salary ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 + super and annual leave loading. Shape the future of education through smart financial leadership.

About The Role

The Manager, Finance Business Advisory Partnering provides strategic financial leadership and advice to one or more NSW Public Schools divisions and Directors of Educational Leadership (DELs) or an Education Support Division. The role supports effective financial decision-making by overseeing budgeting, performance reporting and the delivery of high-quality financial advisory services. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with divisional executives and DELs to strengthen financial management practices across schools. You will also work collaboratively with Finance and Shared Services teams to deliver targeted support, build financial capability and drive continuous improvement in financial performance and resource use. The Finance Directorate is currently undergoing a strategic transformation focused on embedding strong people leadership, driving cultural change, and delivering customer-centric services. About You

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative finance leader who can provide trusted advice and drive strong financial management outcomes across the division.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

* Proven experience to confidently partner with senior executives and non-finance stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes.
* Strong financial management and business advisory experience, with the ability to provide clear insights to support decision-making.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
* Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering high-quality financial services.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work with agility and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.

Key Knowledge And Experience

* Demonstrated experience in a large complex organisation with extensive business partnering, and financial management expertise
* Demonstrated experience providing commercially focused astute financial commentary for senior stakeholders
* Demonstrated experience in financial acumen capability uplift, including evidence of improvements made across organisations
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential Requirements Of The Role

* Degree in a relevant discipline such as finance, accounting or business or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check. As a condition of employment, successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
