About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker. This rewarding role involves providing exceptional care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene, household tasks, social interactions, meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
* Drive clients to places, including grocery shopping, work, and leisure activities.
* Provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities in accordance with their care plans and individual needs.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
* Implement personalised care plans, following established protocols and guidelines.
* Foster a safe and inclusive environment, promoting dignity, respect, and equality for all individuals.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* No prior experience is necessary, but those with 12 months of experience in disability support or personal care are encouraged to apply.
* Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
* A valid Australian driver's license (mandatory).
* A current National Police Check within 12 months validity (or be prepared to obtain).
* Current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain).
* COVID-19 Vaccinations (ACT government requirements).
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for assisting individuals with disabilities.
