Worley is expanding its Environmental Consulting and Approvals capability in the Northern Territory and is seeking expressions of interest from Senior and Principal Environmental Consultants to join our growing Darwin‑based team. With a strong and expanding pipeline of work across oil and gas, mining, and major infrastructure, this opportunity offers a critical role in supporting clients to navigate complex environmental and regulatory challenges across northern Australia. What you’ll be doing In these senior‑level roles, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality environmental outcomes while building trusted client relationships. Responsibilities may include:
Leading and delivering environmental approvals and consulting projects
Providing technical expertise across environmental approvals, environmental management and/or environmental engineering
Collaborating with multidisciplinary Worley and client teams to develop practical, tailored project solutions
Managing relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders
Preparing tender documentation and supporting business development activities
What you’ll bring To be successful, you will bring a strong consulting background and the ability to operate confidently at Senior or Principal level, including:
Proven experience in environmental consulting and approvals, ideally within energy, resources or major infrastructure
Strategic thinking with the ability to develop tailored environmental solutions
Strong knowledge of Northern Territory and broader Australian environmental legislation
Demonstrated experience in project delivery and technical leadership
A collaborative approach with strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to be based in Darwin (relocation support available for eligible Australian citizens)
Desired skills and Northern Territory approvals experience Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded.
Regulatory frameworks and approvals
In‑depth knowledge of Northern Territory and Commonwealth approvals frameworks, including the Environmental Assessment Act 1982 (NT) and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC)
Experience with NT EPA environmental impact assessment processes, including Notice of Intent (NOI), Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Public Environmental Report (PER)
Documentation and project delivery
Preparation and management of Environmental Impact Statements
Development of Environmental Management Plans, including EMP, CEMP and OEMP
Preparation of Mining Management Plans
Oil and gas environmental approvals and referral documentation, including Environment Plans and Offshore Project Proposals
Stakeholder and field experience
Regulatory engagement with NT EPA, DCCEEW, DEPWS and other approval authorities
Experience working in remote and regional environments, including field‑based approvals support
Understanding of land access requirements and stakeholder consultation in the Northern Territory
Strong report writing, project management and client‑facing capabilities
