Trade-Qualified Wood Machinist We’re seeking a trade-qualified Wood Machinist with proven experience on high-speed timber processing equipment to join a state-of-the-art facility in Stapylton, QLD, producing precision, high-quality timber products. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced dry mill environment, understands timber recovery and quality, and can confidently set up and operate production machinery with precision and efficiency. What's On Offer: $120K Super salary package State-of-the-art Facility Training and development opportunities The Role: Setting up and operating high-output woodworking machinery including multi-rip, cross-cut, planer/moulder, docking and edging equipment Machining kiln-dried timber to exact profiles, dimensions and tolerances Identifying defects, assessing timber quality and maximising product recovery Monitoring moisture content and dimensional stability across varying timber species Completing tooling changes, machine adjustments and test runs for production changeovers Performing quality checks, measurements and production reporting Carrying out routine maintenance, cleaning and fault identification Maintaining strict safety standards and following all site procedures and PPE requirements What You Will Bring: Trade qualification in Wood Machining, Sawmilling, Joinery or Carpentry Proven experience in a dry mill, sawmill or industrial timber processing operation with strong experience operating and setting up high-speed production machinery Sound mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to read production schedules, cutting lists and machining profiles Reliable team player with strong communication skills and a solid work ethic Highly Regarded: Experience with optimiser scanners or grading systems Forklift ticket Knowledge of timber grading rules and continuous-flow production environments The Environment: Physically active, hands-on role Industrial timber processing facility with dust-controlled systems Overtime available as required If you're a skilled Wood Machinist with solid dry mill experience and you're ready to join a high-performing timber operation, we want to hear from you.
