About the Role:
We are looking for two innovative researchers to join a project understanding how digital innovations can be developed and deployed in organisations.
You will bring either a strong technical background (e.g. IT, data science) or a strong social science background (e.g. organisational behaviour, psychology), and be keen to work collaboratively with researchers and organisational partners to support improvements in work systems and employee experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Take ownership of industry-driven research projects, responding quickly and effectively to requests from industry and research collaborators with a customer-focused mindset.
* In partnership with research leaders and collaborators, undertake research activities in the context of data collection for organisational research projects.
* Present insights from research to team members, collaborators, and industry partners in visual and verbal form (e.g., PowerPoint presentations)
* Draft reports for industry collaborators including research translation insights (e.g., data visualisations).
* Contribute to industry-led project contract research proposals and grant applications.
• Develop materials to aid the translation of research activities into practice (e.g., designing interventions, visual media, document templates, industry training materials, learning journals).
* Draft project budgets for industry-led research projects, prepare proposals, negotiating with industry stakeholders as required.
* Take ownership of reports written for industry collaborators that include research translation insights (e.g., data visualisations).
* Day-to-day coordination and project management activities (e.g., tracking progress, organizing project meetings, internal and external stakeholder management).
* Line management of Research Assistants.
* Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.
Desirables:
1. Solid understanding of data/AI-enabled workflows in organisations (e.g., analytics, automation, data governance, digital innovation). With relevant experience in a related field of management, psychology, social science or information technology/system, applied data science.
2. Demonstrated experience in conducting field/organisational experiments or quasi-experimental evaluations (baseline/follow-ups, group comparisons).
3. Demonstrated experience and expertise in mixed-methods research including quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and analysis (e.g., Nvivo/R/Python/SPSS).
4. Demonstrated experience conducting semi-structured interviews with a diverse range of employees and employers.
Role Requirements:
1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
2. Part-time hours 18.75 hours per week, flexible across 3 days in the week (Advise your preferred working days per week in cover letter.
