Paramedic or Advanced Clinical/Nurse Practitioner
Ivry Street Medical Practice in Ipswich are looking to welcome a paramedic or ANP/ACP to join our team.This role can be offered on a full or part-time basis as we can be flexible to hours worked.
Main duties of the job
* Assess and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the primary or secondary care team.
* Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management where appropriate, including signposting patients to the social prescribing service, and where appropriate, other community or voluntary services.
* Perform specialist health checks and reviews within your scope of practice and in line with local and national guidance.
* Perform investigatory procedures as required.
* Perform and interpret ECGs
* Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, and other samples within your scope of practice, and within line of local and national guidance.
* Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans and lead certain services (e.g. monitoring blood pressure and diabetes risk of elderly patients)
* Provide an alternative model to urgent and same day GP home visits
* Communicate proactively and effectively with all colleagues across the team, attending and contributing to meetings as required.

Person SpecificationQualifications
* Professional registration with relevant professional body
* Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience
* Post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in specialty area
* Evidence of on-going CPD
* Advanced clinical assessment skills
Experience
* Demonstrable experience working autonomously in a primary care or equivalent setting
* Management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries
* Experience of undertaken clinical audits
* Competent non-medical prescriber
* Perform venepuncture
* Undertake routine screening (cytology, swabs)
* Vaccinations and immunisations
* Teaching and Assessing qualification
