We are a busy, boutique law firm in the city that practices Employment & Industrial law as well as Family law, and are seeking a trainee law graduate to conduct their Practical Legal Training with us.
Almost all of our solicitors started their careers with us in this manner and have learned the ropes by being provided with on-the-job training utilizing the buddy-system, whereby you learn from the more experienced solicitors by doing & simultaneously being guided and mentored by the Partners.
In order to be considered for this position, you must be able to:
1. Commit to training with us for 2 – 3 days per week, over a 6 – 9 month period overall;
2. Have full rights to work in Australia without restriction;
3. Provide a Police clearance upon request;
4. Provide Referees upon request;
5. Demonstrate prior interest in, and/or have studied Employment law or Family law at university or at college; and
6. Work flexibly within a small-knit team that hail from all walks of life (i.e., be the right person for the role).
Whilst this role is a voluntary clerkship, we will be reviewing your performance over the course of the 9-month period to determine your eligibility for being offered employment after your admission, so if you display a good attitude and are a quick-study you may be fortunate enough to start your junior legal career with us.
If you currently have a part-time job in an unrelated field then we will be able to accommodate this when choosing your training days so that you can consistently complete your PLT training along with your other job on a weekly basis (this in turn will be viewed favorably by us as a sign of good time management & personal organisation, which is a key skill to being a good and efficient lawyer).
Our firm is recognized as being a leading one in Employment & Industrial law in Western Australia, and we have consistently won several awards in our field, so if you wish to start your career on the right foot then don’t hesitate to send your Curriculum Vitae and complete Academic Transcript to by C.O.B 15 May 2024.
