We are looking for an experienced, service-focused Host to be the welcoming face of ROCA CABANA, guiding customers through their experience, managing reservations and flow of the venue, and helping create a relaxed yet lively atmosphere for our community of locals and visitors.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Host to join the opening team at ROCA CABANA, Byron Bay's new pool club for an IMMEDIATE START.
This is a key front-of-house role where you'll be the first point of contact for our guests while also helping to coordinate our wait staff and runners to ensure smooth, seamless service across the venue.
You'll be part of an experienced team that values organisation, clear communication and genuine hospitality.
The role is perfect for someone with a social, confident and outgoing personality who enjoys being in the heart of the action and taking ownership of the floor.
Duties
Welcoming and seating customers, creating a welcoming first impression
Creating and maintaining an understanding of curating an environment by seating and checking in with customers
Liase with the kitchen team to ensure service is seamless
Coordinate walk-ins and waitlists, communicating realistic wait times to customers
Oversee the floor plan and table turns to optimise flow and capacity
Direct and support wait staff and runners during service to ensure smooth coverage
Communicate clearly with bar and kitchen to align timing of food and drinks
Monitor customers experience across the venue and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Maintain venue presentation and poolside ambience throughout service
Assist with hosting large groups and special requests, ensuring details are communicated to the team
What you'll need
Extensive background in hospitality, food & wine service.
Experience in a hosting or FOH management role
Must be customer service orientated.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) is essential
Must have a keen eye for detail
Must be able to work under pressure and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
