About our role:
Due to expansion of the team, Northern Star Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Light Vehicle Fitter to join us at our Thunderbox operations. This position is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth only. The Light Vehicle Fitter reports to the Light Vehicle Co-Ordinator, with a primary role of maintaining light vehicles and associated ancillary equipment to minimise downtime and to ensure targeted machine reliability is achieved between planned maintenance tasks within the operations.
Here's what awaits you...
* Work within the Mobile Maintenance Team to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow‐up work, PMs, planned work etc) are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner.
* Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
* Organise all permits as required (e.g. isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits).
* Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Provide input into the annual performance reviews for the Mechanical Apprentices where applicable
To thrive in this role you will need...
Experience: Minimum 2 yrs similar mining experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, exposure with Toyota vehicles.
Qualifications: Mechanical Trade Qualification, Valid Australian Drivers Licence, Refrigerant Licence (desirable)
