About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to join our team at The Argyle Bar & Restaurant, located in the heart of Elizabeth Quay, Perth, WA. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage a team of front-of-house and kitchen staff, providing ongoing guidance, training, and support
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability
- Oversee inventory control, menu planning, pricing strategies, and budgeting
- Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture that promotes teamwork and excellent service
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues professionally and promptly
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant management
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or management

Job Position: Chef / Cook (Full-time / Part-time / Casual)
Specialising in Japanese Cuisine – Sushi, Sashimi, Grill & Stir-Fry
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chef / Cook with experience in traditional and modern Japanese cuisine to join our kitchen team at The Argyle Bar & Restaurant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sushi making, sashimi preparation, grilling, and stir-fry cooking. You’ll play a key role in delivering authentic Japanese dishes that delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi and sashimi with precision and consistency
- Handle fresh seafood with expert knife skills, especially for sashimi preparation
- Operate and maintain Japanese grill stations (e.g., yakitori, teppan)
- Cook stir-fry dishes with speed, precision, and authentic Japanese flavour
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and uphold food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with inventory control and daily ingredient preparation
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Contribute to seasonal menu updates and new dish development
Requirements:
- 2–3 years’ experience in a Japanese kitchen or similar setting
- Proven skills in sushi making and sashimi cutting
- Strong understanding of grilling and stir-fry techniques
- Excellent knife skills and attention to food presentation
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (speaking, listening, and understanding)
- Able to perform under pressure during busy service times
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Culinary certification or relevant training is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Japanese kitchen tools and equipment
- Familiarity with traditional Japanese ingredients and plating styles
- Basic Japanese language skills (a plus, not essential)
