Primary objective
As a member of the Rosebery Secondary School leadership team, provide high level leadership and advice to ensure that the school's
management services, corporate governance and organisational systems and processes meet the emerging business and professional
needs of the school.
Context statement
Rosebery Secondary School is expanding to be a full comprehensive high school offering education from Year 7 through to Year 12 by
2029, providing a seamless and inclusive learning environment that caters to a diverse range of student interests and abilities. Our
curriculum is guided by the Australian Curriculum and the South Australian Certificate of Education for senior years students, and our
school is designed to deliver the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training, with all students on a Northern Territory
Certificate of Education and Training pathway ensuring that students meet the academic standards required for successful completion of
secondary education. In addition to a strong academic curriculum, the school incorporates Vocational Education and Training pathways,
enabling students to gain practical skills and industry-recognised qualifications alongside their academic studies. This dual focus equips
students with both the knowledge and competencies necessary to pursue further education, training, or direct entry into the workforce,
fostering well-rounded, future-ready graduates.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide quality policy advice or where relevant facilitate appropriate policy advice, on all corporate matters for the principal and staff
of the school including financial, budgetary, infrastructure and human resource management and policy implementation issues.
1. Provide quality leadership of appropriate corporate and business support services systems and non-teaching staff that provides for
cost effective, timely and appropriate service delivery, addresses all policy imperatives and drives performance reporting and analysis.
3. Provide strategic and operational leadership on staff training and recruitment in partnership with central service providers. Provide
administrative support services within the school.
4. Manage an ongoing program of continuous improvement for corporate support systems and processes including proactive data
collection, analysis and performance monitoring and reporting.
5. Ensure the School Representative Body's responsibilities as an employer are met including processing of complex payrolls and
compliance with legislative requirements.
6. Provide direction and negotiate with departmental managers, directors and staff to coordinate delivery of business services and
support achievement of school and departmental strategic objectives.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to analyse and provide high level advice on business support activities including financial and human resource
management, infrastructure, budget development, policy development and implementation and performance and financial reporting
to facilitate efficient and effective program delivery.
1. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with an understanding of the complexities of cultures
and contexts present in the Northern Territory, and the ability to engage and promote the effective interaction with all cultures and
all levels of staff.
1. High level adaptability, flexibility and resilience including demonstrated ability to manage pressure and change in an environment
undertaking change, and to modify approaches to suit different people and situations.
1. Demonstrated extensive experience in management of a business support service delivery team, including management and
coordination of staff, resources, records and assets.
1. The ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience in the use of Accounting Software and Ci Anywhere.
2. A working knowledge of the education systems and the school environment to contribute to the development of business support
strategies and initiatives.
3. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, business or leadership.

diverse team of multi-disciplinary financial, maintenance and service delivery staff across two campuses.
1. Develop and implement robust and standardised school wide systems, policies and procedures to meet corporate governance
accountabilities. This includes risk identification, management and business continuity planning, information management, financial
management and procurement practices.
1. Provide expert advice and financial analysis to support the school Principal and leadership team to undertake complex global budget
development and to monitor and manage income and expenditure to deliver outcomes aligned with the school's strategic priorities.
1. Project management and oversight of all infrastructure and facilities including minor new works, repairs and maintenance and capital
programs and related contracts and tenders.
1. Ensure the School Representative Body's responsibilities as an employer are met including processing of complex payrolls and

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Highly developed knowledge of contemporary business systems thinking, frameworks and techniques. Including techniques for the
development, implementation and evaluation of business systems, process and procedures.
2. Demonstrated sound management skills with the ability to use coaching and mentoring techniques to build the capacity of other staff
and to motivate and lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality, client focussed services.
1. High level knowledge of relevant legislation, frameworks, policies and procedures in relation to financial and budget administration,
human resources, property management, procurement, information management, emergency management, and other governance and
management frameworks that apply in a school context.
1. Proven experience in the preparation, control, monitoring and analysis of a complex budget and providing clear and timely advice and
recommendations to inform management decisions.
1. Demonstrated effective communication and project management skills with proven ability to work effectively with people of diverse
cultures, and professional backgrounds and to manage diverse stakeholder groups to achieve outcomes.
