About the opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to provide essential support to the Corporate Accounting team and broader business. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, this role delivers timely and accurate financial information and supports a wide range of accounting and compliance activities.
Key responsibilities
* Maintaining trust account reconciliations, receipting and audit requirements
* Supporting accounting processes including transactional banking and reconciliations
* Assisting with month‐end tasks including balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing data for statutory reporting including BAS, FBT, ABS surveys and Payment Times Reporting
* Supporting payroll‐related activities
* Managing corporate card processes
* Maintaining financial data within systems including BusinessCraft and Xero
* Assisting with budgets and reforecasts
* Responding to internal and external audit queries
* Providing support on ad‐hoc finance projects to enhance the finance function
About you
You are a detail‐oriented and motivated accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is looking to further develop your corporate accounting career.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Commerce, Finance or Accounting (or equivalent)
* Progression towards or intent to complete CPA or CA qualifications
* Minimum 2 years' experience within a Chartered Accounting firm
* Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
* Advanced Excel and systems skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
* Strong time management and the ability to prioritise effectively
* Trust accounting experience would be advantageous
