On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will merge to form Bayside Health, a new health service with over 22,000 employees serving a community of more than 1.2 million Victorians.
Role Overview
Pharmacy technicians are a vital part of the multidisciplinary hospital pharmacy team. They assist pharmacists with the preparation, dispensing, and provision of medicines, maintain accurate procurement and distribution records, and support stock control and replenishment. The positions are open to Pharmacy Technician Grade 1 (TF1) or Grade 2 (TH6)* holders, with the option for superannuation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medicines under pharmacist supervision
- Perform tablet packing and basic clerical tasks
- Maintain accurate procurement and distribution records
- Assist with stock control and replenishment
- Support pharmacy activities across units (e.g., ward and department supply)
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other health professionals to provide timely patient care
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III (or IV) in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy support (desirable)
- Previous experience as a hospital pharmacy technician or in procurement/inventory management (desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and general clerical skills
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Level of confidence to receive, apply, and carry out instructions
