The Cathedral School is seeking a reliable, organised and hardworking Laundry Operator to join our support team. This role plays an important part in ensuring our students and staff have access to clean, well?maintained linen and garments throughout the school year. The position is worked during school terms, with hours generally aligned to the school day.
Key Responsibilities
The Laundry Operator will be responsible for a wide range of laundering tasks, including:
* Washing and laundering:
o Boarding students' clothing.
o Dining hall and kitchen linen, and staff room tea towels.
o Home Economics linen, Student Health Centre linen, science garments, art aprons, manual arts aprons and sporting jerseys.
o Boarding and camp linen (mattress protectors, sheets, pillowcases, doonas).
o Cushions, bean bags, rugs and soft toys as required.
o Shower curtains.
o Curtains from boarding facilities and classrooms.
o Outdoor education equipment, including sleeping bags as required.
* Ensuring all items are laundered in accordance with School standards and hygiene requirements.
* Ironing, mending and basic sewing of items as needed.
* Reporting equipment repairs or maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
* Assisting with maintaining accurate records and inventories of tools, stock and equipment.
