An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Finance Officer who will support the Chief Finance Officer and Financial Controller to fulfil SCHHS statutory reporting obligations that comply with relevant legislation and Accounting Standards and, manage a highly professional and proficient financial accounting team.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Supervise a team in managing the financial accounting function, providing support, training, professional development and encouragement. Allocate work and priorities ensuring timeframes and quality outcomes are met and promote ethical behaviour and continuous improvement
- Oversee and manage the end of month, annual financial reports and statements, addressing issues to ensure integrity and compliance with relevant legislation, government and Queensland Health policies and Accounting Standards, including:
- Development and oversight of the annual financial statements plan and lead-up activity, including managing and coordinating the internal and external audit activities for the financial accounting team and more broadly where required, to ensure the appropriate and timely release of records and information.
- Maintaining stewardship in integrity of the general ledger and quality assurance of general ledger reconciliations, including maintenance of the general ledger chart of accounts for the SCHHS.
- Preparation of key month end journals (i.e. public private partnership accounting), suspense accounts clearance, and balance sheet analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity of the SCHHS financial information,
- Analyse, report and forecast liquidity (cash flow) position and assist the Financial Controller with preparation of relevant reports for the Executive and Board Finance and Performance Committees Oversight of data entry and transaction processing for the financial system to ensure accuracy and completeness of revenue and expense accruals, prepayments, and other significant balance sheet accounts.
