The Role:
The Project Officer Will be responsible develop and deliver programs and activities aimed at increasing participation of external stakeholders from communities under‐represented.
The Responsibilities:
* Deliver outreach activities for the purpose of encouraging the aspirations and building the capacity of stakeholders from under‐represented backgrounds.
* Provide high level support to programs with schools and low SES communities including, contributing to the scoping and planning of projects, coordinating, implementing and/or managing key components of these projects and supporting the development and maintenance of information systems.
* Support the development and implementation of activities and presentations in schools and on campus which are informed by current research into widening participation.
* Advise and support mentors and mentor leaders toward enhanced mentoring practices.
* Undertake analyses of evaluations and initiate and implement improvements to programs, activities and events to enhance impact and optimise operational efficiencies.
* Maintain relationships and ensure effective communication is maintained with key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Minimum 4 years of experience as a Project Officer delivering outreach programs.
* Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and oral/written communication including presentation skills.
* Evidence of either experience or understanding of the issues related to increasing participation in higher education of under‐represented groups.
* Recent experience and understanding of school communities or other educational environments, preferably within a recent Australian context.
* Highly competent organisational skills including the ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks, use initiative and achieve goals within established timelines with an understanding of project competencies.
