About the opportunity

The Campaign Communication Officer will:

* lead and support the development, implementation and evaluation of behavioural change communication campaigns aligned to CASA priorities
* provide specialist advice on campaign strategy, digital engagement and performance measurement
* interpret and apply CASA policy, regulatory requirements and governance frameworks in communication materials and advice
* manage digital and social media channels, including moderation and responses to emerging or sensitive issues
* monitor and evaluate campaign performance through data gathering, detailed analysis and reporting against behavioural and communication objectives
* provide evidence-based advice to inform planning, decision-making and resource allocation
* manage external suppliers in accordance with CASA procurement and governance requirements
* build and maintain productive relationships with internal subject matter experts, regulated entities and external stakeholders
* represent the section in internal forums, working groups or inter-agency activities as required
* contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance CASA’s safety promotion capability
* identify and manage communication risks in line with CASA’s risk management framework.

Our ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:

* Experience delivering and evaluating behavioural change campaigns, communications, marketing or public relations programs.
* Demonstrated ability to apply behavioural insights to design effective communication strategies and influence safer behaviours.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights and support decision-making.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into plain English.
* Ability to work independently with limited direction, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and productive working relationships.
* Sound judgement when managing complex or sensitive issues.
* Understanding of CASA’s regulatory environment and aviation safety priorities.
* Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a respectful and equitable manner.
* Promotion of workplace safety, equity and diversity, in line with CASA’s Values and Behaviours.

The following ideal candidate requirements are desirable:

* A tertiary qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience in communications, marketing campaigns, journalism, or public relations.
* Experience applying behavioural science frameworks such as COM-B or EAST in communication or campaign design.
* Knowledge of government communication, regulatory environments or public sector governance.
Eligibility

Employment with CASA is subject to conditions prescribed within the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The following eligibility requirements apply to this position:

* Must be an Australia citizen
* Undergo pre-employment screening including a Police Check
