About the RoleReporting to the Principal and Business Manager, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of the College’s operational services, including:Transport (school bus system and vehicles)Grounds and facilities maintenanceContractor engagement and coordinationWorkplace Health & Safety (WHS/OHS) systems and complianceYou will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence across the campus while fostering a strong culture of safety and teamwork.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the College transport system, including bus operations and vehicle maintenancePlan routes and coordinate bus runs using \"RollCall\" bus softwareLead and supervise bus drivers, maintenance, and grounds staffCoordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and long-term asset planningMaintain and enhance College grounds and gardensEngage and manage external contractors and service providersDevelop and manage maintenance schedules and budgets in consultation with leadershipCoordinate and oversee WHS/OHS systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and College policiesPromote a proactive safety culture, including hazard reporting and risk managementProvide operational support for College events and activitiesContribute positively to team culture and communication across the College About YouYou are a practical, proactive leader with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and high standards.
You will bring:Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in facilities, maintenance, or operations managementProven experience in groundskeeping, repairs, and maintenance, including use of machinery and equipmentExperience managing staff, contractors, and operational workflowsStrong working knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS/OHS) requirements and complianceSound administrative and organisational skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships within a school communityA current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Personal AttributesThe successful applicant will:Ideally be a practising ChristianUphold and/or be sympathetic to the Adventist identity of the CollegeDemonstrate integrity, professionalism and a collaborative approachExhibit a strong work ethic and commitment to excellenceBuild positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider communityDemonstrate a growth mindset and a passion for supporting student wellbeing Why Join Us?Gold Coast Christian College offers a supportive, values-driven environment where your work will make a meaningful difference.
