Payroll Officer (Human Resources)
Job Type: Temporary.Location: Civic Tower - Head Office, 2200.Until 30 Oct 2026 (possible extension).
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end payroll processing, including timesheets, adjustments, higher duties, back pay, and exception reporting.
* Management of employee leave, entitlements, workers' compensation payments, and related reporting.
* Maintenance of employee master data and personnel records, including new starters and employment changes.
* Preparation of payroll correspondence (payslips, statements of earnings) and distribution of timesheets.
* Provide payroll support and advice in line with industrial awards and organisational policies.
Other Duties
* Preparation and data entry of all leave applications including advance payments.
* Liaise with Risk Management in regard to workers compensation claims and payments.
* Establishment and maintenance of employee master file data including change of address, bank deposit details, deductions, allowances and pay rates.
* Confirm system entry of new employees master file details and establish personnel files.
* Checking of payroll exception reports after completion of data entry.
* Send emails with attached payslips to staff. E-mail managers and team leaders advance notice of an employee's pending requirement to produce a doctor's certificate for future sick leave absences.
