Aboutthe Role
Due to the expediential growth within the City of Wanneroo, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our award-winning Building Services team.
As the Building Technical Officer, you will assist in providing the regulatory building and planning services. You will collaborate with residents, stakeholders, and industry professionals to effectively and efficiently carry out this requirement while adhering to Building Regulations and Corporate standards.
You will be responsible for:
Processing building applications within statutory timeframes, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring compliance with the Building Code of Australia, Building Act ****, Building Regulations **** and the Residential Design Codes.
Act as a point of contact for customers and stakeholders, respond to enquiries ensuring that these are addressed, resolved and/or re-directed for resolution.
Provide specialist advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders on building related matters, in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
Liaise with customers and stakeholders, assisting with enquiries to ensure the matter is addressed, resolved and/or re-directed for resolution.
AboutYou
You must be adaptable and ready to take on a challenge. The role would be perfectly suited to someone with exceptional administrative skills, preferably with experience in building approvals:
Qualification in or working towards a qualification relevant to the building and construction discipline is desirable.
Relevant experience in a similar role.
The ability to deal with customer enquiries in an effective, customer focused manner.
An ability to employ the City's corporate values in your day-to-day work.
Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
Intermediate organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks; and
Valid C Class Drivers Licence.
