Job Summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to maintain and evolve the product baseline and structures for multiple delivered sub‐systems. The engineer will support new capability integration for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) across a range of defence maritime assets, including Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, ruggedised portable computing systems, weather stations and radar equipment, and hydrographic survey systems.

Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop and integrate electronic and electrical subsystems for defence maritime applications
* Support system integration activities, including interface definition and verification
* Conduct engineering analysis, trade studies and technical investigations
* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and electronic hardware issues during development and integration
* Prepare applications for deviations and engineering change proposals to rectify detected defects and improve approved system baselines
* Manage and develop technical documentation defining systems configuration and design processes
* Provide technical advice to the Leidos maintenance team and end users of the system
* Contribute to potential enhancements to the system
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
* Systems engineering experience, preferably within the defence industry
* Involvement in detailed design development and equipment acquisition/sustainment of systems
* Understanding of key elements/phases of Systems Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support activities
* Experience developing engineering artefacts such as applications for deviation, problem reports, engineering change proposals, investigation reports, and specialist design documents
* Experience in risk and hazard identification/management within a regulatory environment
Employment Details

Location: Scoresby (Melbourne). Hybrid work model: once settled, minimum in‐office commitment of 1 day per week with flexibility to shift based on commitments. Full‐time or part‐time (minimum 4 days) opportunities available. Some local travel may be required for customer visits and technical investigations. The role offers up to 12 days additional leave each year through the Leidos "life days" program.

The position requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.
