About this opportunity
Council are currently seeking expressions of interest for casual staff to support our Cultural Centre in the implementation of events, performances, functions and bookings for Scenic Rim Cultural Centres (Beaudesert, Boonah and Tamborine Mountain). We are looking for people who are able to join our casual relief pool where shifts could be from Monday to Sunday and from a variety of hours depending on events and requirements.
You will support and contribute to all manner of events, with offerings like a food and beverage service, a customer focussed approach to supporting delivery of event tasks, assisting patrons when required, seat allocation or ushering, providing support for audio, visual and stage equipment, pack up/pack down and more, all whilst ensuring the safety of all patrons, team members, performers and the public in attendance.
With differing events across our region, and to ensure you can make any given event, any given day, morning until late in the evening, a reliable vehicle and current drivers licence is essential.
Additionally, your role will include
Assist with the set-up and pack-down of events, exhibitions and performances including:
Placement of seating, staging and equipment
Servicing during the event/performance
Clear-up and pack-down of equipment used
Providing basic AV and technology support for performances, functions, exhibitions, etc.
Complete administrative duties including use of council system's, Microsoft suite and Outlook
Customer focused food and beverage service to event patrons & attendees
The successful applicant will bring
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle under a C Class Licence.
A current Blue Card (working with children check) or willingness to obtain before commencement in the role
Possess a current responsible service of alcohol (RSA) certificate (or be willing to obtain at short notice before commencing in the role)
A customer orientated, flexible and adaptable mindset.
Well developed communication skills with ability to tailor your style to your audience .
Ability to safely lift, carry and move equipment in accordance with work health and safety act 2011 & Council’s Work health and safety policies and procedures
Experience in cultural venue, staging, events or hospitality is valued by not essential.
Experience or basic competency in the use of computers and software applications or ability to acquire

This position comes with a base remuneration from $39.03 per hour, up to 13% employer superannuation contribution and much more.
