Downer is Seeking a motivated Product Development Officer to play a key role within Downer's Road Science team. This role will assist in the delivery of Research & Design (R&D) projects and carrying out essential testing activities across a wide range of materials and technologies.
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of laboratory functions including sampling, sample preparation, testing, research activities, equipment checks, training support, report preparation and general laboratory maintenance, all in alignment with our ISO‑aligned quality systems.
ABOUT YOU
* Tertiary Qualification in Science, Engineering or Materials (Background in Pavement Materials or Asphalt favourable).
* Knowledge and experience in one of the following technology areas is desirable; Bituminous Binders, Asphalt Design, Pavement Engineering.
* Demonstrable and successful experience working in a Civil Engineering Technology Laboratory environment and quality system, preferably a NATA accredited facility is required.
* Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement technical solutions.
* A flair for problem solving and formulating solutions.
* Strong safety focus - actively participate in and support Downer Zero Harm initiatives and strategies.
