The position of Chef Manager is an exciting opportunity to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Reporting directly to the site leadership team, this role is responsible for the daily delivery of high-quality meals, following set menus for residents in alignment with food preferences and nutritional plans.
This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and coach kitchen teams across all facets of workplace safety routines and safety checklists. The successful candidate will also be part of Infinite's Chef Community, sharing great food creations and participating in catering events.
Key responsibilities include managing budgets, procurement, stocktakes, and regular equipment maintenance processes. Additionally, the Chef Manager will attend daily management meetings with other heads of department to action strategic and operational outcomes in a highly collaborative and supportive leadership style.
This role is physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items to carry out daily tasks safely. A proven track record of working in commercial kitchens, along with demonstrated experience in leadership roles and capabilities over kitchen teams, is essential for this position.
The ideal candidate will be a natural people person who creates a safe, fun, and learning culture for staff to come to work and be their best while building up culinary skills and experience with a great mentor. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders are also crucial.
A tertiary qualification in Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, including a valid Food Safety Supervisors certificate, is required. Previous experience in Aged Care or the Health sector is an advantage.
