About the job
This is a rare opportunity to spearhead the sales strategy for a global leader in agricultural machinery. Based in Melbourne, you will take ownership of the North Asian market, specifically managing business performance across several important territories. We are seeking a commercially astute professional to manage distribution partners rather than direct end-users, ensuring sustainable growth and market penetration for several major equipment brands.
In this dynamic role, you will blend strategic sales planning with technical oversight. Beyond driving revenue, you will be the linchpin for product compliance, navigating complex regulatory requirements (homologation) to ensure market entry. You will be supported by a technical team but must possess the drive to hunt for opportunities and the cultural awareness to maintain strong international relationships.
Role responsibilities
* Manage and forecast sales performance for distribution partners across Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
* Oversee product homologation and ensure strict regulatory compliance for international markets.
* Develop and implement sales incentive programs to drive market share and profitability.
* Conduct quarterly international travel (approx. 4 times per year) to manage territory performance.
* Collaborate with technical and parts departments to ensure comprehensive customer support.
Required skills and behaviours
* Proven management experience (5+ years) within the agricultural machinery or heavy equipment sector.
* Strong understanding of homologation, technical regulations, or complex product certification.
* Exceptional strategic sales skills with a track record of managing B2B distribution networks.
* High-level communication skills with the ability to bridge cultural differences.
* A proactive "hunter" mentality with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
