About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Systems Engineer to join our JORN Program based at Adelaide, South Australia reporting to the Operating Systems Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for leading the analysis, design and implementation of an ICT scope of work. They will work with other members of the JORN Enterprise ICT Group and other project design (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.) engineers and support teams to ensure a system orientated, integrated approach to ICT engineering development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertake engineering activities within own competence without day-to-day guidance or supervision, including liaison with customers and suppliers as appropriate
* Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
* Provide help and direction to less experienced team members
* Manage own elements of Engineering work package
* Take responsibility for contributing to team planning, risk management, product safety, quality and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
* Set targets for and manage own development with line manager
* Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve own practices. Be aware of and contribute to relevant BAE Systems Australia engineering communities of interest
About YOU
* A background in Systems Engineering is considered essential
* Hold a proven track record of working in an ICT environment
* Experience in the defence industry is considered desirable
* Hold a NV1 Defence security clearance
