Local Laws Officer
One of our clients, a local council within the Ferntree Gully area, is looking for a Local Laws Officer to join their passionate team.
This Job is a casual role, however it will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.
Your shift will start at 8.30am and will end at 5.00pm
Pay Rate: $38.44 Per Hour + Superannuation.
Starting: ASAP.
The purpose of the role is to respond to community concerns, investigating complaints and gaining compliance with Local Laws and State Government Acts and Regulations.
You will Need:
Tertiary Qualification in Animal Control, Regulations or Investigations or lesser formal qualifications combined with relevant experience.
Highly developed customer service skills and ability to deal with customers at all levels.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work setting, demonstrating self-motivation.
Comfortable in working around animals, in particular cats and dogs and show awareness to personal safety.
Previous experience in an investigating role, specifically including the collection of evidence, taking statements, conducting interviews and preparing briefs of evidence as needed.
Current driver's license
You will be:
Providing assistance and support to Community Laws Officers and other City Safe and Health staff as required
Providing clean and effective communication to all stakeholders in matters related to improving compliance with Acts, Regulations and Local Laws.
Encouraging and maintaining compliance through enforcement, mediation and when required, prosecution of breaches against Acts, Regulations and Local Laws, traffic/parking controls.
Providing strategic advice and guidelines to line Managers developing and implementing policies, programs and initiatives that support the achievement of organisational objectives.
Please Note - a Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status will all need to be obtained upon placement.
