The College offers a tailored journey designed to support students at pivotal points in their young lives. The separate Middle School and Senior School campuses provide extensive facilities and create learning environments designed to nurture and empower the students that they serve. Your Role We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate educator for the position of First Nations Education Liaison Officer to join the team at Emmaus College, Rockhampton. This is a term time continuing position for 38hpw, for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant. This position is a School Based Education Liaison Officer role with an education component, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the classroom. The First Nations Education Liaison Officer will service the educational mission of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous Education. In doing so, advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students together with their families, communities, teachers and college. Selection Criteria The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate: A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities. An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.
