Position Information
Tamworth South Public School is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. In this key role, you will drive the school's strategic goals in line with the Department of Education's priorities. Working closely with the Principal, staff, and the wider school community, you will help build a positive, inclusive, research-based and supportive school culture.
We are looking for an exemplary classroom teacher with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of explicit teaching practices, and expertise in literacy and numeracy development. The successful candidate will need to be passionate about supporting and developing capable staff and leading wellbeing and curriculum initiatives that promote continuous growth and excellent student outcomes.

Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
* Describe your outstanding curriculum knowledge to maximise student learning outcomes as well as your exemplary classroom teaching practices and how you will share these talents to develop your team.
* Demonstrated capability and expertise in strengthening a dynamic and inclusive school-wide approach to student wellbeing, empowering every teacher with affective scaffolds so that students thrive, grow, and experience a genuine sense of belonging.
* Outline your leadership experiences in schools. Describe/outline the approaches have you used to lead teams, manage programs, and drive school improvement.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
* Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
