Aircraft Mechanic Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team in Townsville, Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures, as well as experience with sheet metal/structural modification and repair.
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
* Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
* Restore equipment condition and operation using technical expertise.
* Solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing scheduled inspections, assisting in special inspections, and conducting limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
* A thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, as well as the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
* An understanding of aircraft unique tools, such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
In addition to the required skills and qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers, and experience working with military technical publications and the Army's Unit Level Logistics Aviation Information System (ULLSAE).
