School counsellors play a vital role in the School Counselling Service, providing expert guidance and psychological assessment to students. They work collaboratively with teachers to enhance student learning outcomes and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be based at Karabar High School, working across the lifespan with both primary and high school aged students. This position offers unique challenges and opportunities for professional development and making an impact on the lives of children and young people.
Key responsibilities include delivering evidence-based interventions, collaborating with key stakeholders, and catering to diverse student needs. You will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of students and school communities.
The NSW Department of Education provides ongoing support for its staff, including regular individual supervision, group and peer supervision, continuing professional development, and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Karabar High School is a partially Selective High school situated on Ngambri and Ngunnawal lands in Queanbeyan, serving 800 students in years 7-12.
