Actuarial Analyst – All Classifications
We're seeking an Actuarial Analyst to use data expertise and actuarial techniques to deliver insights and create actionable changes that optimise underwriting portfolios. The role focuses on pricing risk and underwriting decisions across our Home portfolio and supporting pricing initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain data models and reporting dashboards to support business insights.
* Continuously monitor dashboards and core KPIs, developing performance and pricing analyses, and proposing changes to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Apply advanced actuarial pricing techniques such as GLMs, machine learning, and impact analysis.
* Write clean, well‐documented code and manage deployment and staging environments.
* Collaborate with business functions and stakeholders to drive performance and efficiency improvements.
Software and skills
* Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent.
* Strong programming capability in SQL and Python.
* Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
* Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS or Marketplace.
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex datasets.
* Core actuarial pricing skills and data interpretation and problem‐solving abilities.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into business outcomes.
Qualifications
* Minimum 3‐5 years of experience working in the insurance industry.
* Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science/Engineering, Statistics, or an equivalent field.
* Hands‐on experience managing and manipulating large datasets.
Benefits and Working Conditions
22 days annual leave, plus volunteer leave and annual salary reviews. Fixed‐term contract with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role. Hybrid working arrangement – in‐office Tue‐Thu with flexibility to work from home on Monday and Friday (Sydney‐based only).
