The Role
As a WHS Business Partner you’ll be solely dedicated to partnering with clients across the mining and resources space. You’ll act as a trusted advisor and on-the-ground safety specialist, working closely with branch teams, clients, and field employees to drive best practice safety outcomes. You’ll play a key role in implementing the company’s strategic safety roadmap, supporting operational safety maturity, and fostering a proactive culture of safety across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with branch and client stakeholders to deliver WHS activities, systems reviews, and onboarding processes.
- Acting as the go-to contact for WHS guidance, providing credible safety advice and coaching to Account and Business Managers.
- Engaging directly with clients, supervisors, and safety teams in office to build strong WHS partnerships and deliver practical solutions.
- Driving incident response processes, from triage to resolution, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Leading safety initiatives such as safety champion meetings, safety shares, and tailored risk management activities.
- Supporting reporting, data insights, and the identification of trends to develop targeted WHS initiatives.
About You
You are a safety professional with strong site-based experience and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You bring a collaborative and practical approach, backed by technical expertise and a genuine commitment to putting people first.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in safety, including at least 3 years in the mining sector (operational mining experience highly regarded).
- WHS Cert IV
- Strong communicator with the ability to engage, coach, and influence both internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Comfortable with interstate travel (QLD, WA, NT – approx. monthly).
- Skilled in incident response, risk management, and delivering safety initiatives in complex environments.
- Competitive salary package. $150,000 - $165,000 package.
