About This Opportunity

We're looking for a dynamic leader to take charge of ECC's Academic and Student Administration team. In this pivotal role, you'll guide a dedicated team of six full‐time professionals and play a key part in supporting our undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs. You'll also work closely with the Teaching & Learning Committee and its various subcommittees—helping drive innovation, streamline processes, and enhance the academic journey for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities

* Student & Academic Administration: Lead the School's professional staff team, ensuring high performance through supervision, workload management, performance reviews, and professional development. Oversee governance processes, committee documentation, and collaborate with Faculty and Central Administration on academic and student administration matters.
* Operational Planning & Strategic Management: Plan and manage the delivery of teaching and assessment support, maintain accurate student and program data, and ensure efficient business processes and standard operating procedures. Support curriculum planning, oversee casual academic staff administration, support accreditation activities, and manage teaching allocations in consultation with key stakeholders.
* Policy, Liaison & Advisory: Provide expert advice on University policies and procedures; provide strategic and administrative support to the Director of Teaching and Learning and represent the School on committees and working groups. Advise senior executives on complex student matters, including grievances and misconduct.
* Student Recruitment & Data Analysis: Contribute to marketing and recruitment activities by analysing student trends, developing content across marketing channels, and coordinating School participation in recruitment events such as Open Day, TSXPO, and international agent engagements.

About You

* Completion of a postgraduate qualification or progress towards a postgraduate qualification with at least five years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in an administrative field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Extensive experience (minimum five years) in academic and/or student administration within a university or tertiary education setting, combined with a thorough understanding of institutional structures, policies, and procedures—particularly those related to student academic progression—or a demonstrated capacity to quickly acquire such knowledge.
* Demonstrated expertise in the management of people and material resources, and the ability to coordinate functions and activities to achieve objectives in a changing and constrained organisational environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including a demonstrated history of building and maintaining productive working relationships with other organisational units.
* Strong problem‐solving skills and analytical ability, including a demonstrated ability to resolve issues through negotiation.
* High level managerial, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to provide advice, negotiate and liaise to achieve desired outcomes.
* Experience in the preparation of reports, submissions, policy documents and other written works with evidence of excellent written skills.
* A track record of commitment to a culture of continuous improvement and working autonomously, including the ability to identify areas for improvement, lead reviews and successfully implement new business processes.
