As part of this expansion, we are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join our team as Manager Community Development & Youth Services. This pivotal role will lead the City’s approach to community development, youth services and Aboriginal engagement, helping bring our vision to life — to be Australia’s most liveable regional city, the place we are proud to call home.

About the RoleReporting to senior leadership, you will provide strategic direction and operational leadership across community development, youth services and Aboriginal engagement. You will guide a multidisciplinary team delivering place-based services that strengthen community capacity, support young people and build meaningful partnerships across the region.
A key focus of the role will be establishing and embedding the City’s Aboriginal Engagement & Partnerships service, ensuring genuine collaboration and respect for Aboriginal peoples’ cultural authority and connection to Ngurra (Country).
You will also oversee the operation and development of two youth centres, ensuring they provide safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces for young people.
What You’ll LeadStrategic Community Development – driving place-based, asset-based initiatives that strengthen social cohesion and community capacity.Aboriginal Engagement & Partnerships – building respectful relationships with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal organisations and Elders, and embedding culturally safe practices across the Services – leading innovative youth programs and overseeing the City’s youth centres to support positive youth development and wellbeing.Community Partnerships – fostering collaboration with not-for-profits, community groups, schools, health providers and industry.Grants & Sponsorships – shaping transparent and impactful community funding programs.Leadership & Governance – guiding a high-performing team while ensuring strong planning, reporting, financial management and risk oversight.
