Permanent Part time, 64 hours per fortnight

Located in vibrant beachside Mornington

On 1st January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1st January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.


The Team & Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our collaborative and supportive team in our 30 bed secure Geriatric and Evaluation (GEM) Ward, specialising in the care of patients with multiple chronic and complex medical conditions including cognitive impairment and dementia. In this role you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to support the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence based high quality patient centred care.

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is a valued member of the leadership team at Peninsula Health, committed to upholding Peninsula Health's values and meeting organisational goals. The ANUM supports the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and when required acts in their role to provide effective leadership and management of the Unit.

This is a permanent part time role working 64 hours per fortnight, and located in the vibrant coastal town of Mornington.


Skills and Experience Required

* Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
* Recent Acute nursing experience in either Medical, Rehabilitation, Acute Care of the Elderly
* Able to demonstrate the ability to assess and respond to signs of the "deteriorating patient."
* Identifies and understands the long‑term impact of particular courses of action on the organisation's objectives
* Experience in a leadership or management role
