Aspect Personnel are currently working with a council in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs to recruit a Waste & Resource Recovery Coordinator for an initial 6-month contract role.

You will be responsible for providing effective leadership and management to the Waste Operations & Resource Recovery Centre Teams. You will play a crucial role in maximising outcomes for the Council, customers, and the community while contributing to the broader leadership and management of the operations unit.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and monitor annual service plans aligned with council objectives.
- Ensure high-quality people management practices, including recruitment, performance management, and compliance.
- Monitor team work quality and maintain customer-focused service delivery.
- Oversee waste operations and ensure the delivery of best practice frameworks and systems.
- Manage operations at the Resource Recovery Centre, including waste and recyclable processing.
- Manage relationships with contractors, service providers, and industry professionals.
- Reporting and risk management.
- Adhere to occupational health and safety procedures and ensure safe work practices.
- Driving improved operational efficiencies and guiding the strategic direction of the department.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Qualifications in waste management, operations, environmental or related.
- Experience in waste management and organisational leadership.
- Demonstrated success in driving organisational efficiency and innovation.
- Strong people management skills.
- Robust stakeholder management skillset.
- Financial management and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
